Travel Like an Artist is a course designed for makers who want to take their art from copying other’s ideas on Pinterest to mining the world around them for new, unique ideas to translate into their own art.
This course is designed to teach you daily inspiration gathering activities to help you understand how to find the inspiration that speaks to you. Then we will create a travel journal together that is ready to collect and hold all the inspiration you find while on your next trip, whether it be to the other side of town or to the other side of the world.
Travel has a special way of opening our minds to new possibilities and ideas, but can be exhausting and overwhelming. By creating a travel inspiration journal you will be ready to soak in and capture all of those beautiful sites, great ideas and interesting tidbits to bring home with you and translate into your art.
What exactly is inspiration? How do you find it? How do you use it to make your own art? Is it the same as copying? How do you know the difference?
If you struggle with these questions and don’t understand when an artist says ‘I was so inspired by my trip to Mexico that know I have a fully sustainable business where I sell scarves!’, then this course is for you.
Do you love to travel? Do you drink in the rich beauty of new places only to come home overwhelmed and tired? Do you feel inspired by going new places, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures and ideas, but don’t know how to move those feelings and ideas into your art? Then this is the course for you.

Q: How much does this class cost?
A: $25 USD, purchase this course via Paypal here.
Q: Where is this course hosted?
A: On this private site!
Q: Do I need a big, fancy camera?
A: No! Your phone camera is the best one for gathering inspiration quickly and easily.
Q: How long will I have access to this class?
A: Forever! Your access never expires.
Q: Will I need to take a ton of travel art supplies with me on my trip?
A: Absolutely not. I believe less is better. We will pack our travel kit together and even test it out to make sure it isn’t too large.
Q: Is this course only for travellers?
A: Nope. Though travel is one of the best forms of inspiration hunting, the course begins with finding inspiration in the room you are currently sitting in, moves to your neighbourhood, then your city and then finally to the whole wide world.
Q: Should I wait and buy the course the day before my next trip?
A: Probably not. As I said in the above question, inspiration hunting is a skill or muscle you must train and build so waiting until the day before your trip will not give you time to practice your inspiration hunting or to create your journal.
Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: No. Unfortunately due to the digital nature of online courses, refunds are not allowed. But if you are unhappy with your purchase please email me and we find a way to work something out to fix the situation.
Q: How can I get in touch with you?
A: Inside the course, please simply leave a comment on the lesson you have a question about. If you would like to talk about something else, please email me at mrslaurenhooper (at) gmail (dot) com.
